Standing in a long, slow-moving postal line, someone recalls the hope and anticipation involved in a child's perspective of Christmas. The memories of counting and examining wrapped gifts at the foot of the family Christmas tree leads them to share with fellow customers in the queue about his realization of a different and authentic hope - God's hope gift which was sent at Christmas through the Christ child and ultimately unwrapped on the cross with the crucifixion. Cast: Monologue (male or female), with added off-stage voice; however, may be staged with additional non-speaking actors portraying people waiting in line.
